Hi everyone! I know I’m reviewing a lot of TBS products these days, but these reviews had been long pending. I’m reviewing the Satsuma shower gel from TBS in this post.
· Refreshing citrus scent
Price:Rs. 340 for 250mL
Packaging: The Body Shop Satsuma Shower gel comes in a huge, see-through plastic bottle, with a translucent-white flip-top cap. the flip-top is sturdy, and the product does not spill out of the bottle while travelling, though it would be better to transfer some product to a smaller bottle for travel purpose, since 250mL is a lot of product to be carried in the bag, or buy the travel-sized bottles for travel.
Ingredients*: Aqua (Water) (Solvent/Diluent), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Surfactant), Glycerin (Humectant), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Cocamide DEA (Surfactant), Coco-Glucoside (Surfactant), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Parfum (Fragrance), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Glycine soja (Soybean Oil) (Emollient/Skin Conditioner), Citrus nobilis (Mandarin Orange Oil) (Fragrance), Methylparaben (Preservative), PEG-55 Propylene Glycol Oleate (Surfactant), Propylene Glycol (Humectant), Benzophenone-4 (Sunscreen), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Hexyl Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Butylparaben (Preservative), Ethylparaben (Preservative), Isobutylparaben (Preservative), Propylparaben (Preservative), Citrus reticulata (Fragrance Ingredient), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Citrus dulcis (Orange Oil) (Fragrance/Essential Oil), Sodium Dehydroacetate (Preservative), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), CI 15510 (Colour), CI 15985 (Colour).
Consistency/ fragrance: The Body Shop Satsuma Shower gel is an orange colored gel, has a light runny consistency, and it has a very sweet citrus fragrance. The fragrance envelops the whole bathroom in a jiffy, and lingers on even afterwards. Though it stays on the body only for 10-15 minutes.
My experience with The Body Shop Satsuma Shower gel: Umm.. I love citrus fragrances, but this one is sweet-citrusy, and though I don’t dislike it, I’m not a huge fan either. The fragrance is a bit too sweet and heavy for my liking. It does its job well in cleansing the skin, and leaves the skin squeaky clean, without drying out the skin. My body skin is normal, unlike the very oily facial skin, and I do not feel any sort of itching or dryness after a shower with this gel. All in all, it does its job well.
Pros of The Body Shop Satsuma Shower gel:
· Cleanses the skin properly
· Lathers well
· Does not dry out the skin (it is soap free, and contains soya oil)
· Gets washed off without leaving the skin slippery to touch
· Huge quantity in a bottle
· Simple packaging
· Affordable price
Cons of The Body Shop Satsuma Shower gel:
· The fragrance may be a bit heavy for those with a sensitive nose.
· Contains parabens
· Bottle may be difficult to travel with
Verdict:If you love sweet citrus fragrances, do check this out.
Rating:9/10 (-1 for the heavy fragrance)
