First of all, a very very happy new year to all our readers…!! I hope this year brings lots of joy in your lives…!!

Being a pakka Delhiite, I started bracing myself for the chilly dilli ki sardi almost from the month of October…!I know it was a little too early to be worrying about winters but I figured it would be good if I paid a little more attention to my skin this year . So, in my search for a good night time moisturizer I came across Lotus Herbals WHITEGLOW Skin Whitening & Brightening Nourishing Night Crème (for all skin types).

About Lotus Herbals WHITEGLOW Skin Whitening & Brightening Nourishing Night Crème :

WHITEGLOW™ Skin Whitening & Brightening Nourishing Night Crème claims to be a breakthrough from Lotus Herbals that lightens , whitens and brightens your skin overnight.

· LIGHTENS– It lightens skin’s tone by reducing uneven pigmentation.

· WHITENS– It unveils visibly fairer skin by reducing dark spots.

· BRIGHTENS– It enhances skin’s radiance naturally.

This product claims to give you a radiant, fairer and flawless skin within 7 days of regular use. It also claims to reduce the appearance of pores.

Price: Rs. 375 for 60g.

Packaging: The product comes in a silver-grey jar made of glass with a shiny silver screw-on cap. The glass makes it very bulky and heavy. However, the screw on cap makes it quite travel friendly.

Color/fragrance: The cream is white in color and has a pleasant floral fragrance, which fades away after some time. For those of you with sensitive nose, this would not be a problem.

Ingredients: D.M. Water, Light Liquid Paraffin, Glycerin, Isopropyl Myristate, Arctostaphylos Uva-Ursi (Bearberry) Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Extract, Milk Enzymes, Arachidyl Alcohol & Behenyl Alcohol & Arachidyl Glucoside, Polyacrylate-13 & Polyisobutene & Polysorbate 20, Hydroxyethyl Urea, C20-22 Alkyl Phosphate & C 20-22 Alcohols , Triterpenoids,Phenyflavones (Mulberry) Extract, Epigallocatechin (Saxifraga) Extract, Vitis vinifera (Grape) Extract,Xylitylglucoside & anhydroxylitol & xylitol, 2-Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Triethanolamine, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Fragrance.

Texture/consistency: The texture is very creamy and very soft. It is white in colour and a bit greasy though, but since it is a night cream and it is chilly here in Delhi it’s not much of a problem. In fact, I somehow feel that night creams should be a bit greasy at first so that the skin can drink the moisture through the night.

I should also add that it does not feel heavy on the skin at all.

My take on Lotus Herbals WHITEGLOW Skin Whitening & Brightening Nourishing Night Crème: I started using this cream expecting this to reduce the large pores on my skin while providing moisture, replenishment and lightening some pigmentation. Well , it may seem like too much but that is exactly what it claimed to deliver.

Although it claims to show results in 7 days of regular usage , honestly I did not feel any difference in reduction of pores. It did provide good moisturisation and my skin felt glowy and soft in the morning without feeling overly oily. Now, I have been using this product for more than a month and I have started noticing some positive results. Being greasy, I am very happy that it did not cause any breakouts on my oily acne prone skin. I have also noticed slight lightening of my acne spots. There is reduction in the size of my pores too.

·         With regular usage I feel my skin has become soft and supple

·         Reduces enlarged pores, lightens spots to an extent

Cons of Lotus Herbals WHITEGLOW Skin Whitening & Brightening Nourishing Night Crème:

·         It will take more than 7 days to see some noticeable results, contrary to what it claims.

·         Glass jar- will break surely if you drop it.

·         Price may be an issue for some.

  

Verdict:

If you are looking for a good night cream that gives you supple skin , reduces pigmentation and gives your skin a healthy look, go and grab it guys. Do not rely on the ‘7 day’ claim. Use it regularly and you will surely see the results.
