Hey everyone!
Today I’m reviewing my current favorite
hair serum. I have thin, brittle hair, prone to a lot of frizziness, if not
tamed. And having a good serum is a necessity more than luxury, or else I end
up looking like a... well... forget it! I’m currently using The Body Shop
Grapeseed Glossing Serum. Read on to know why I like it so much. Did I say I
like it a lot? :D
About The Body Shop Grapeseed Glossing
Serum: Helps prevent moisture loss and split ends. Apply to towel dried or dry
hair.
Price: Rs. 570 for 75mL (available in only
one size)
Packaging: the serum comes in a small
plastic bottle, of a very pale greenish color. It has a pump dispenser, and a
small translucent cap. It is travel friendly. There’s no way serum can spill
out of the pack into your bag if you travel with it.
Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane (Skin-Conditioning Agent/Emollient), Dimethiconol (Skin/Hair Conditioning Agent), Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil (Skin Conditioner), Sesamum Indicum Seed Oil (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil (Hair & Skin Conditioning Agent), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Parfum (Fragrance), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Butylphenyl Methylpropional (Fragrance Ingredient)
My take on The Body Shop Grapeseed Glossing
Serum: I have used Matrix hair serums for a long time in the past, and while
they were ok-ok, they were not doing anything good to my hair as such. like,
the effects were temporary! So I wanted a new serum, and when I saw this one at
the store, I couldn’t help but pick this one up, even though I wasn’t too
convinced about the price in the first place. But all good things come at a
price! Sigh!
The serum is a transparent fluid, which has
a thin consistency, and smells of grapes! The fragrance is adorable, and I love
it when my hair smells of this serum for a long time. Effect wise, the serum
does control fly-aways like no other serum that I’ve tried before. The frizz is
quite controlled with this serum, even though I’m blow-drying my hair almost
every time after shampoo because of the chilly weather here. It does not weigh
down the hair, or leave oily patches on certain hair sections. For my medium
length hair, I need around 2 pumpfuls each time. Also, I sometimes apply it
between hair-washes too, and the serum imparts a mild shine to my hair.
I’m not too sure about the split ends claim
though, since I have been using it for only about 6 weeks now. Will update you
guys if I note any remarkable difference with the split ends.
