My take on Forest Essentials Facial Toner Pure Rosewater: Now temme one thing, aren’t there hardly any brand out there which give you 100% steam distilled water in the name of ‘Rose Water’? I’ve tried the Dabur Gulabari Premium Rose Water, and that comes loaded with chemicals, parabens included :( . I hardly ever use it!

The Forest Essentials Rose Water is a clear, watery product, with the sweet fragrance of fresh roses- like the pink roses with those short leaves (not those Valentine’s Day red roses :P ), and for the first time, I have liked the fragrance of rose water. Other brands’ rose water variants have a very synthetic, weird smell (I have a very sensitive nose!!).  The fragrance is nice and pleasing. I generally use this on the face during the day to freshen up the skin (1-2 sprays are enough, and the product evaporates within a few seconds after application), and sometimes to dilute face packs too. The mist has a nice calming sensation on the skin, and aroma therapy for the senses. The travel sized bottle is small, so it can fit into the handbag easily during travel.

I have not used it as a toner per se, so I cannot really comment on how well it would work as a toner. But if you have very dry skin, you can use this as a toner since it is quite a mild and natural product.

All in all, this is a no-fuss product which works, and I’m not going to stretch the review any further :P

Pros of Forest Essentials Facial Toner Pure Rosewater:

  • Steam distilled rose water- 100% pure
  • No chemicals at all!
  • Comes in a travel-friendly packaging
  • Can be used as a toner, facial mist and a mixing medium for face packs

Cons of Forest Essentials Facial Toner Pure Rosewater: None!

Verdict: Must-have!

Rating: 10/10

  1. wow .. this looks great .. i m all ready to pick it up.. my aunt used to make rose water at home .. but i am too lazy to do that ..if it is pure rose water then it must make a way to my kitty .. thanks for awesome suggestions :)

  2. i haven’t tried this yet… but so far of all the rose waters i hv tried…. fabindia one is the best! comes in a spray bottle too! :)

  3. Thanks Ritu for the review. This one looks good. Have you used the fabIndia one too. could you compare the two if you have for a better idea

  4. hi ritu
lovely review…i wanna ask u dat every time i use rose water as toner, my skin breaks out in severe acne. I’ve combination plus sensitive skin..does it ntt suit me…btw I’ve only used dabur gulabri …dat maybe d culprit or rose water in any way..??

  5. i have earlier tried the fab india rose water and of course the disastrous gulabari.. while i do not want to comment anything on the dabur one, fab india RW was okay for me with a little problem that always some kind of a weird smell lingered around after its application and it was totally intolerable to hubby dear. by reading your review, i feel this one will have no such issues. however, its lil pricey ;P

  6. I used Dabur Gulabari long ago, but my skin got allergies and rashes after using that. Since then I am scared of rose waters. I have never used anything from Forest Essentials. But after reading the review, I think I should try this once. Thanks for the review, Ritu :)

  7. Nice review.. something worth trying i guess.. have stopped using dabur gulabari few months back as it did not do any good to my skin.. this seems like a welcome change.. Thanks for the review..
