  1. My main skin problem is dryness and i solve it with my honey and milk cream which gives me good nourishment and help me achieve healthy skin. Once in a week i also do olive oil massage so that my skin get the required oil treatment and it works.
I love my simple but effective method which can be done almost with any hectic day.
I hope it helps everyone in winters, so try on :)

  2. Hey..again a great question :)
My skin trouble- OIL yess,i am screaming that loud :P becoz i am totally fed up of my super oily skin that looks more like an oil factory!!
    MY SOLUTIONS–
    1. Increasing the intake of fruits and juices in ur diet actually helps a lot..and yeah,i try my best to avoid super oily food (This is tried and tested)
    2. Honey n Lemon paste is my magic remedy..this is my daily ritual to apply it before sleeping and it really makes my skin behave much better..added benifit–> it tastes so yummy ;)
I also love to apply multani mitti on my face with rosewater.. it also makes the skin clean n soft.
And in summers,i never forget using ice cubes on my face..before sleeping..but i cant do this in winters :P
    3. I wash my face many times a day and also apply lime juice..it really helps in controlling oil.

Product i love- The body shop tea tree face wash is so amazing for my skin.
fabindia tea tree soap is also gud for oily skin.
    Thanks :)

  3. My only skin problem is acne and it is such a big problem that i used to get pimples almost every second day but it stopped eventually when i started using a home remedy.
Add little water and grind neem leaves to make a paste. Mix the neem paste with turmeric powder. Mix rose water and lemon juice with the neem paste and apply it on pimples and leave it for half an hour. Wash it off. It gives me visible results in few days itself.

  4. My skin gets really dry in the winters and that’s my biggest skin woe. I regularly use a super-creamy moisturizer like Neutrogena’s body emulsion to keep it hydrated but some additional TLC that I give my skin once a week is using a CURD paste. I apply curd and mix with some honey and a few drops of lime. I leave it on the skin for about 10 minutes and then wash it off.It works wonders for my skin. I sometimes also use an EGG YOLK paste. I make a face pack using yolk of one egg, one teaspoon of milk powder and one teaspoon of honey. I apply this paste on the face, leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with water.

  5. I have dry feet and the heels always have cracks. I apply my most waxy lip balm to the cracks and leave them over night. I find a little solace the next morning.
I repeat applying lip balm every night.

  6. My skin is oily that creates big big problems. I use the following recipe to control the oiliness-

Mix one teaspoon of honey with an egg white and stir well. Then add just enough flour to make a paste. Apply the mask to face, avoiding the eye area. Let it dry for about ten minutes, then wash it off with warm water. Using this mask keeps my skin firm and balanced the excess oil.

  7. Thanks Ritu for this contest. :)
My main skin problem is dry skin, particularly around my T-zone. I use a good face scrub/wash to exfoliate my face in the morning, then apply Apifil Moisture Barrier which is a heavy duty moisturiser. So far it’s working well. :) And I try to drink lots of water to keep my skin hydrated. Recently I’ve started this regime of “looking good, feeling good” :P I tried the healthy diet and staying away from oily food and all, but couldn’t keep it up. :P

  8. I have a skin problem of blemishes and big pores and i get rid of it by using my skin routine which is as following-

I exfoliate my skin every week

I cleanse, tone and moisturise my skin every morning and evening.

Placing the ice cubes gently along the pores for 15 to 30 seconds daily which tighten my skin and at the same time helps in reducing the open pores. some time i also use lemon in my ice cubes.

I apply a small amount of pure honey on blemishes and leave on until it dries.
Wash off with clean water. It helps in reducing blemishes.

And this is my another method which cure my skin problems-
Add equal amounts of lemon juice and rose water to sandalwood powder to make a paste. Apply this paste on skin.Leave on for about 10-15 minutes. Wash off with clean water.

It is what refreshes my skin and keep it healthy .

    Thanks!!

    For removing my blemishes,

  10. My biggest skin problem is acne/pimple :( whenever i see a pimple popping out i just dab some toothpaste ;) on it and leave it on for an hour and wash it off. You can also use baking soda+water paste on the pimple and leave it on for an hour and wash it off with water and the result you can see the pimple shrinking and the redness is gone :) patch test is highly recommended for doing this baking soda tip.

  11. My biggest skin problem is my dark circles
My solution – 1.Take a teaspoon of tomato juice and mix it with one teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply this mixture on the dark circles in a very gentle manner and allow it to sit for ten minutes. Finally rinse it off gently with clean water , follow this everyday and you will see the difference
    2. Drink at least ten glasses of water everyday.
    3. Good amount of sleep

  12. My biggest skin problem during winter is dry skin , and to overcome this I have been using a home face pack of
fruits like orange, banana , apple , whichever is available in my kitchen and then add 1 or 2 teaspoons of almond oil, 1 egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of honey. First I steam my face to open up the pores, then apply the fruit mask, and after 15 to 20 minutes wash it off with a warm water .

  13. My skin gets dry in the winters, I apply a lot of body lotion but still that does not helps. I tried some home remedies too but that too was of no use. My skin looks awful during Winters. I tried going for a balanced and healthy diet too but that too dint helped me :(

  14. Thanks dear for this contest. :)
My main skin problem is dry skin which develops white patches and turns parchy in the drying winter months. I use a creamy cleanser to clean up my face followed by moisturizing creamy face wash. I use a light-weight moisturiser during day and apply rich nourishing night cream before hitting the bed. Apart from this I take a healthy diet including lots of fruits, salads and atleast 2-3 litres of water during the day. :)

  15. Hi,
I have a combination of extreme skin types. I have an oily face and rest of my body has dry skin. It is very difficult at times to take care of it, especially when you have to be out the entire day. Because of this sensitive skin type I cannot apply any facial cream. If I do so, pimples will start appearing on my face. Although I wash my face with a face wash in the night and then go to bed, in the morning I get up to look as if I just dipped my face in a pan of oil. In summer it is more terrible, I can see minute salt particles on the side of my nose. Yes, I have a terribly oily face! Using face wash every now and then is not helpful, so my granny suggested me something. She asked me to
dry orange peels and grind then.
Add turmeric and gram(besan) flour to it.
Mix it with water and apply a pack to the face.
Wash it off after 30 minutes.
She asked me to do it every day before going to bed. And YES IT WORKED FOR ME!
Now I use this pack everyday 3-4 times and it has kept my skin oil in control.
For my dry legs and hands I apply body lotion, other than that I also apply a mixture of castor and olive oil in winter. It helps to keep my body moisturized. Hope this works for everyone!!!

  16. Really nyc question….Have read all the above comments and will surely follow some of the tips they have written…. :D

My main skin problem which i wish wud just vanish is puffiness under my eyes….It makes me feel and look tired….. :(

What i do to reduce this problem is:
    1. I apply potato slices on my under eye skin area…this helps tighten the skin and reduces puffiness….
    2. I use Fabindia’s Aloe vera under eye gel…It has really worked well for me…
    3. I avoid drinking water just before sleeping as this causes water retention which inturn causes puffiness.
    4. I avoid causing unnecessary strain to my eyes like texting with lights off , etc as this strains the under eye area hence causing darkness and puffiness…

Those are the main things i do…They have helped reduce my problem to a large extent…Hope my comment helps someone out suffering from the same problem…. :)

  17. i have very thin hair that get tangled easily and i end up looking messy on the next day of shampooing itself if i dont go a step ahead in taking care of my tresses. so what i do is that i never ever skip oiling before i wash my hair. i prepare a mixture of castor oil + coconut oil+ 2-3 drops of essential oil (currently using rosemary) and massage my scalp on the night before i wash my hair. after wash, i make sure to condition my hair. then once a month a deep conditioning- a curd banana mask. also once a month a apply henna paste. it renders my hair that healthy glow and the color that i absolutely love!!.. i dont have a single grey/white hair though :)

  18. Hi Ritu,
This is the first time I am participating in a blog contest.
Will try and participating in future..

Well, my biggest skin concern is the unpredictability or confusing nature of my skin. I’ve had oily skin during teenage and have the acne problem for ever, sometimes major breakouts, some times one pimple popping out just before I have an important event to attend. I’ve struggled throughout to keep it oil free. Now my skin is getting drier day by day. If I use a creamy product, I get a greasy film over my face.
So finally, I am using following ways to keep my skin problem free:
    1. Using Cetaphil cleansing lotion for sensitive skin (not oily, but moisturizing).
    2. Using oil cleansing method once in a week.
    3. Using a face pack of oatmeal and curd (works as a mild scrub too)
    4. Using a skin serum or oil-free moisturizer to provide appropriate moisture, without making it oily.
    5. Drinking lots of water everyday to keep my skin hydrated.
    6. Using sunscreen generously before I step out. When I am staying indoor, I do apply a moisturizer with little spf.
    7. Adding a drop or two of an essential oil to night cream.

Well thats all for now. Lest see how my first participation fares..
And yes, I love your contests Ritu!!

  19. my main skin concern is wrinkles. i am scared that i dont get wrinkles as my age is 32. so i massage my face with aloe vera oil for 5 minutes before i go to bed so that my skin doesnot get dried up and i dont get wrinkles as well

  20. Hey this is interesting!
Here goes my biggest concern… I have been battling with serious dandruff issues from the last couple of years. I have an oily scalp and so I have those oily kind of dandruff which just sticks to the scalp like a leech! Ofcourse I have not been able to get completely rid of it but I have found solutions to keep them at bay.
    1. I wash my hair thrice a week so that my scalp remains clean.
    2. I never opt for deep conditioning as it aggravates my problem.
    3. I use homemade packs like meethi paste, lemon+curd pack or even fresh papaya pulp on my scalp at least once a week.
    4. I always rinse my hair with diluted apple cider vinegar as it makes my hair soft and shiny and controls dandruff also.
    5. Lastly, I have started keeping a check on what I eat. I have increased my protein intake as well.
Well, after a long period of trial and error, I have been successful in figuring out what works for me. :-)

  21. My main skin problem is Acne… For controlling Acne , I always make sure I drink lots of water and eat food which has less oil.. I use face washes and moisturizers which contain Tea Tree Oil to keep my skin healthy and clean.

  22. Hi,
I have been following your posts since the past few weeks and really like the way you describe everything. My skin tone is similar to yours but my major concern is its combination nature. My skin changes with weather and place and behaves accordingly. It belongs to the normal/ dry combination zone so I have to keep myself prepared for all times.

A light fluffy lotion or cream during summers and a thick rich one during winters. Also if I am travelling I keep an account of the climate that I will encounter beforehand and pack accordingly. I drink lots of water and include fleshy fruits and vegetables within meals to keep my skin hydrated at all times.

A pack comprising of mashed bananas/ strawberries/ oranges with honey (varying with seasons) adds that radiant glow to my skin.

So a long post but that’s it.

  23. my skin problem is it just gets dull at times and bit dry.. all i do i is mix milk and honey in equal quantity and use its as a mask which really nourishes my skin it get instantly hydrates and fresh look it also makes my skin baby soft :)

  24. My main skin concern is DRYNESS…
I always prepare my “ram-ban ilaj” in a bottle. Mix equal quantities of Glycerine, Rose Water, and Lemon Water and preserve it in a bottle. Apply it through out the year. Nothing can be as effective as this easy remedy. It makes the skin supple and also It brings a glow on the skin..

  25. My main skin problem is oily skin. Even in winters, my skin looks super shiny and oily which means I never get to look fresh and clean :P

I deal with this problem my using a heavy moisturiser on my face before going to sleep everyday. Then get up in the morning, use a face scrub and am ready. I have found that moisturising my skin makes it less oily, contrary to popular belief!
