If you have been following me on Instagram (if not, you can follow me here), you’d be knowing that I was holidaying in the Alsisar palace hotel int he first week of June. While the travelogue will come up shortly on my travel blog, I thought of quickly reviewing the spa at the palace hotel- the Vilasa Spa by Tattva at Alsisar hotel, Nahargarh, Ranthambore, Rajasthan, India. Long address, haha! Keep reading for my review 🙂
Tattva Spa’s philosophy is about rendering the fundamental elements or Tattvas, namely Prithvi (earth), Vayu (air), Agni (fire), Jal (water), Aakash (sky) to your body while you Indulge yourself in an array of our specialized spa therapies. Ancient eastern philosophy believes that the entire universe, including the human body is a composition of the five elements. The balance of these in the universe and the human body is the essence of wellness that Tattva stands for.
Vilasa Spa is the luxury spa brand from the house of Tattva, and can be found at luxury and heritage resorts across the country. Since we were at the Alsisar hotel, Nahargarh for about two days, we decided to make the most of our time there by experiencing spa services on both the days.
Location: The spa is conveniently located by the poolside at the luxe heritage hotel.
On day-1, we tried out the foot massage by the pool-side in the evening. The gorgeous view of the pool, the sounds of splashing water only added to the relaxation, though we had the option of taking the service in the dedicated massage rooms. The therapists are very well trained, and they worked on our feet with much care. We had only returned from a long trip to the Ranthambore Fort, and all the muscle soreness from climbing hundreds of steps just vanished after the massage. Our session lasted for about 45 minutes, and you have to experience it to know how good it was!
We were to go on a jungle safari the next morning, so we deferred the full body massage till after that. And we are so glad we did! 🙂
The next morning, we headed for a jungle safari- and you know how jungle safaris are- majorly bumpy! With all the jumping around in the jeep, we were desperately looking forward to our spa session for the day! So upon return from the safari, we headed straight to the spa and took our services. I tried out Balinese massage for myself, since that is one of my favorites. We were directed towards our therapy rooms, and the first thing that instantly transports you to another era is the ambience and the whole ‘feel’ at the place. Done in marble, the whole hamam area with the lit-up peek-a-boos in the wall made me feel like a Maharani! The decor is so luxe, and so true to the era of the Kings and Queens! Loved it! Each room also has an attached sauna and shower area, so you don’t have to step out of your therapy area before the whole service is completed.
I was offered disposable spa garments to change in, which is what I always like at spas. It is something that instantly makes me trust the spa for the good services that will follow, since I am very very particular about hygiene. During the session, there was some soothing music playing in the room, with dim lights, which totally heightened the sense of relaxation during all the time the massage was being done. The spa therapists at Tattva have been trained really well, and I could experience that during my session. You know, after having visited a lot of spas, I can judge a spa’s protocol very easily. I would give the Tattva team full marks for the same. My therapist took time to understand what areas of the body needed to be emphasised upon during the massage (constantly sitting in front of the laptop has led me to cervical area pains) and worked on them accordingly. After the massage session, I went in for a few minutes of sauna which opens up the pores of the skin, induces sweating and helps in detoxification. All this followed by a shower..
The session left me feeling rejuvenated and totally relaxed after the tiring jungle safari, which is all that I needed. Moreover, my skin was glowing from the use of the in-house oil blend and the expertly done massage. Couldn’t have asked for more 🙂
Overall, I had an amazing experience at the Vilasa by Tattva Spa at Alsisar hotel. The staff is courteoues and the therapists are well trained. If you happen to visit nahargarh, do try out the spa during your stay. You are bound to fall in love with the spa and their services.. Highly recommended! 🙂
