Lakme Absolute Masaba Lips: Review, swatches, FOTD
Lakme has come up with yet another lip crayon collection, and a very exciting one this time! They have collaborated with designer Masaba Gupta, who is known for her quirky designs, for a matte lip crayon range inspired by candy colors. The packaging and the overall look and feel of the range look promising. Let’s get on with more details!
The Lakme Absolute Masaba Lips range has 10 shades, and I have 5 of them with me to show to you guys. The packaging is very retro, and inspired by candy and other such things which remind you of your childhood days (like cola, cotton candy, bubble gum, etc.). The crayons have a twist-up, retractable packaging which makes life so much easier!
Lakme Absolute Masaba Lips- Bubble Pink
This is a blue based pink. It does not really flatter my olive skin tone since it is quite blue based, but it would look good on someone who has a light complexion. I also have pigmented lips, which adds to the clash of tone here.
Lakme Absolute Masaba Lips- Role-a-cola
The name reminds me of the cola candies we used to have as kids and I expected it to look like ‘cola’, but it truly is a blue based lavender which is a lot like the lavender lip worn by Aishwarya Rai at Cannes 2016.
Lakme Absolute Masaba Lips- Caramel Toffee
A true n*de brown for olive skin tones like mine. Best paired with a bold smokey eye!
Lakme Absolute Masaba Lips- Cherry Bite
A pretty blue based red which will look good on all complexions. It is a very wearable red, something you can wear to work too. Best!
Lakme Absolute Masaba Lips- Orange Candy
A very wearable orange, this one is perfect for summers.
Overall, the shade range is pretty impressive, but I feel that some of them are not everyday shades, or everyone’s cup of tea. You may want to check out a few shades for sure, though. The staying power is good, and the formula is comfortably matte from the beginning. These do not dry out the lips, nor do they bleed. Do check them out!
