One of the best parts about my life right now, I’d say, is my association with Lux as a Lux Ambassador. Being associated with a brand like Lux which is so widely used in India and which invokes nostalgia every time we think of it is a huge pleasure, and something I take pride in.
This year too, I was lucky enough to visit France with Lux (check out last year’s trip here), and today I shall share all the deets on what all we did in south of France to understand fragrances better. Keep reading. And be prepared to be bombarded with pics, especially those of the lavender fields! I had a tough time selecting just a few!
Lux knows the best way to welcome their ambassadors. There’s always a surprise waiting for us in our rooms. Everyday. A gorgeous Lux hamper is all you need after a long and tiring flight, and fresh lavender is the best way to relax. And did I tell you, I brought those fresh lavender buds home with me?!
Our stay was in this dreamy countryside boutique villa-hotel Le Pigonnet. Lush greens all around made our stay very pleasant. The first evening was spent meeting all the lovely Lux Ambassadors from all around the world, exchanging pleasantries and drinks with a gorgeous sunset to keep us company!
The theme revolving around this year’s Lux Fragrance Summit was #MoreThanYouCanSee. Fragrance is something which you cannot see but it still envelops you beautifully, and I love how this year, Lux helped us see how fragrance is always around us in it’s invisible form. There’s fragrance in beauty, in fashion, in your personality and what not. We were hosted at a lovely countryside Chateaux for most part of our activities, and by the end of the trip, the chateaux started feeling like home.
One of my favorite parts of the itinerary was this soap making session. We learnt how French soaps are made traditionally- with olive oil and natural fragrances. And we also got to create our own customised soaps!
Below are the ones I made for myself:
Another of my favorite activities was this perfume making session by Givaudan. I’ve been to Givaudan in Paris on my last trip with Lux, and basis my learning there, I was glad to be one of the few bloggers to actually recreate a Lux fragrance. Got a good nose, I must say! 😛
Fragrance in fashion was something I had never thought of. When we think of a fragrance, we normally do not attribute it to ‘fashion’. But the fact that our mood, our fragrance choices and our fashion choices go hand in hand. It was fun discovering the relation between them all, and with the help of a mood board, you too can. My mood board was around my favorite color ‘purple’, reflecting on how much I like this rich, royal hue and the scents associated with it. You should try creating a mood board too.
Little did we know that our fragrance and beauty choices go hand in hand too! Your personality, your makeup style and your fragrance preferences are all intertwined in a way you do not realise on a day to day basis. For me personally, I love wearing a strong fragrance while keeping my makeup subtle- in a way trying to create a balance between everything.
Let’s also take a moment to
appreciate drool over how gorgeous the chateaux was from the inside and out!
Overall, I came back with so much more knowledge about fragrances and how they affect our everyday lives and our choices. It was a great experience being on the Lux Fragrance Summit 2017!
That was, well, most of this trip. I know you are waiting for the deets on the trip to the lavender field. Well, wait for it in my next post!
