Deborah Milano Hi-Tech Trio eyeshadows: Full range swatches

Hiya girls!
In this post, I’m sharing with you all swatches of the full range of the Deborah Milano Hi-Tech trios. I received samples of the entire range from the Brand, so you will see sample sized products in this post.

All eyeshadows have been swatched in the following ways:
  • dry swatches without flash (top-left)
  • dry swatches with flash (top-right)
  • wet swatches without flash (bottom-left)
  • wet swatches with flash (bottom-right)
I have already reviewed trio number 06 here. Quality wise, these eyeshadows are awesome. The average staying power without a primer on my oily lids is 4-5 hours. They retail for Rs. 495 for a single unit consisting of 3 eyeshadows and a very good quality sponge-tipped applicator.

Trio- 01
This trio has a sheer glittery black eyeshadow, a soft shimmery baby pink and a silver-grey eyeshadow in this palette. Of all the trios, this one has the worst pigmentation. But if you’re looking for a soft smokey eye, you can try working with it, though I’d not recommend buying this one!

Trio- 02
The second trio has copper-brown based shades. A dark copper-brown, a golden-white and a soft coppery gold (the most beautiful god I’ve seen), this trio is excellent for the Indian skin tones, and will go well with almost all ethnic wear. Hardly any fall-out and decent pigmentation earn this trio a thumbs-up!

Trio- 03
This is a blue-based trio, with a silver-white shade, a light sky blue shade (almost white again) and a gorgeous dark blue. The darkest shade is lovely, but the other two shades are a bit too white for the Indian complexion. The texture is smooth, and there’s hardly any fall-out.
Trio- 04
This one’s for the pink and purple lovers. There’s a pink shade, a lavender shade and a purple one in there, making this trio a must-have for a lot of girls. You can wear it almost everyday, to a date or even a dinner. The pigmentation is alright, there’s no fallout, and the shades go well together.

Trio- 05
This is one of my personal favorites from this collection. A great, almost-neutral trio with a berry-brown crease shade, it seems apt for office too.  A berry brown, a taupe-brown and a pinkish highlight shade work very well together for almost all complexions.

Trio- 06
Another blue-based trio, this one I feel is more wearable than trio- 03 for a lot of us. The lighter highlighting shade is one of my favorites for brow-bone highlighting. Read detailed review here.
Trio- 07
07 is a green based trio, with a dark green, a golden-khaki green and a peachy highlighter. I have worn these shades a lot of times, and love wearing it again and again. The dark-greens add a lot of depth to the eyes, though the highlighter hardly translates onto the skin, except for some glitter.

Trio- 08
There’s something very appealing about this trio, maybe because all the shades are from different color families here, unlike the other trios. The blue shade has a lavender based dual-tone, the copper-red looks excellent and the golden shade is apt too. Love working with this trio.

In conclusion, I quite like the way the shades in these trios have been thought out. Do remember that all shades in all trios have a pearly finish, except for a few glittery golds here and there.
Once again, all the swatches in a single pic for you to feast your eyes on:

I would do EOTDs with each of them very soon. If you want to see an EOTD with any of the trios first, let me know in the comments below.

Price: Rs. 495 for one unit

Packaging: The trio comes in a sturdy case, with a black pan and a transparent lid. You can see the shade of the eyeshaodws inside, in case you have more than one of these palettes. Inside, the 3 eyeshaodws are in the form of oval domes. The pack has an applicator, which I can say is of very good quality. It is a rubberised tip, dual-ended applicator (not the regular sponge-tip applicator). No mirror is included in the palette, but you wouldn’t miss it for sure. It is a travel friendly pack.

Usage instructions: Used dry the finish is sophisticated and luminous, while used wet the result is metallic and visually dramatic.

My take on Deborah Milano Hi Tech Trio eyeshadows- 06: The trio number 6 is a blue-based trio. There are 3 shades as follows:

  • a metallic silver-grey highlighter, very pigmented, no fall-out
  • a metallic sky-blue shade with pearl finish, quite pigmented and has no fall-out
  • a black-based dark blue crease color, with medium pigmentation and some fall-out.

Out of the 3 shades, the dark blue shade disappointed me a bit with on the pigmentation front. I so wish it were more pigmented, so that it would better translate onto the skin. But when used with a wet brush, the pigmentation definitely improves and the shades show up better on the skin.

*Swatched dry

The shades I feel would suit all skin tones. Also, the highlighter shade can become your favorite if you’re dusky. it’s a very flattering shade for the brow bone and inner corners of the eyes.

The texture of all the shades is very smooth, and they are easy to apply. The staying power is a good 5-6 hours on my oily lids without a primer too (I wore these shades to the market last weekend to test them :P), though there’s some creasing after about 2 hours (again, without a primer). With a primer, the staying power is even better, though I have tested these for a maximum of 8 hours, so I cannot comment beyond that.

*Eyeshadows were used dry for the above EOTDs

Pros of Deborah Milano Hi Tech Trio eyeshadows 06:

  • smooth texture
  • easy to use, color co-ordinated palette
  • flattering shades
  • 2 out of 3 shades have very good pigmentation and no fall-out
  • ophthalmologically tested
  • easy to carry
  • the applicator is of very good quality

Cons of Deborah Milano Hi Tech Trio eyeshadows 06:

  • The darkest shade is the least pigmented here, though the pigmentation improves when used with a wet brush

Verdict: If you’re looking for a good blue-based palette, do check this one out. Overall, a very good palette for the keeps!
