With the festive season around the corner, I’ve created this easy makeup look, starting with Rakhi/ Rakshabandhan or for any festive occasion. The look that I have created this time is an easy to do look with minimum number of products and makeup brushes. The eyes have been done with just two products, and there’s minimum focus on contouring etc., still giving you a very chic, presentable, festive look which can be done in under 10 minutes.

The struggle is real. The struggle to find a foundation that does not slip and slide on the oil-mine that your face is! Top it off with the kinda tropical weather we have in India (most regions), and you… CANT… EVEN…
Oily skin girls, raise your hands! I got your back. I probably have the most oily skin amongst all the ladies that I personally know. And I am always on a quest to find a foundation that stays put on my skin for the duration of a party. Something which won’t make my nose overtly shiny, and not make the skin feel heavy! Today I’m sharing my top 5 favorite foundations that I have discovered and loved over the years. Let’s begin!
With every new makeup technique a bunch of new makeup applicators are introduced to help make that application easy. It is the combination of a good product and a great applicator that gives fabulous results. But some of the shapes are so intimidating that one cannot be too sure about how to use it. We’ve jotted down a few such brushes and other applicators that have unusual shapes but give great results.
NARS Kabuki Ita BrushThis brush has black goat hair, flat angular design which make it ideal for contouring, sculpting, defining and blending powder. Soft bristles glide onto the skin to give a nice chiseled look.
My bag is an all season pandora’s box. You’ll find the most bizarre things and the most irrelevant things filling it to the brim.
Random bills of pizza that I ate 2 weeks ago or the parking tickets from last month or the post-its on which there’s a number but no name(a number has no name..it’s Arya Stark’s number #GoT :D) …you get it.
Thankfully my family observes a seasonal cleaning day wherein we are forced to clean our belongings and chuck out things we don’t need. And this is when my bag takes a sigh of relief.
Before all this random stuff again makes a home in my bag, I make sure to insert my top 5 summer essentials.
L’oreal Paris UV Perfect Aqua Essence City Face Mist – I cannot emphasis how much this products helps in the scorching heat. When the skin feels parched I quickly spray this for an instant pick me up. And guess what it doesn’t just moisturizes the skin but also protects because its got SPF 50++. L’oreal Paris UV Perfect Aqua Essence City Face Mist has earned a space in my heart and bag both!
MAC Studio Fix compact – This is my Knight in Matte Armour. For girls with oily skin this product is a boon. Dab, dab, dab – and problem solved! MAC Studio Fix compact is my pick however, there are many options to choose from.
Lips – If you apply lip balm only when the lips are chapped, then you should know that the skin on our lips is so much thinner than the skin on the face. It is very important to apply lip balm which contains SPF. For a quick makeover I keep the Bobbi Brown art stick in my bag as it is a creamy lip color and also doubles up as a blush. And Avene High Protection SPF 30 Lip Balm is the best bet when it comes to hydration and protection from the sun.
In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara – Kajal melts and makes its way to the corner of the eye (for some secret conference, I believe) and the eyeliner gets transferred onto the brow bone. Mascara is my best bet as it stays put for really long. No melting, no transferring, just awake eyes and pretty lashes.
MAC powder blush Sunbasque has forever been on my wishlist, ever since I did a short MAC makeup training session a few years back. When this blush finally landed in my kitty, I couldn’t be happier! Read on to know my thoughts on this one 🙂

At the recent Milan Fashion Week A/W 16, MAC Global Senior Artist Sonic Sarwate (read about my meeting with him here) created the looks for Italian luxury designer Marni and I totally loved the easy-to-pull-off look. Here’s my attempt to re-create the same. Continue reading for the details.
Today I’m sharing with you one of my current favorite products- the MAC Cream Color Base- Hush.. I am someone with very oily skin, but with dull skin. A good highlighter is a must-have for me, and even though I have stayed away from cream highlighters in the past, I am slowly gravitating towards them.
