About Figs & Rouge Aloe and Mint balm: If you’ve been looking for a great multitasking product, voila! This one’s probably the greatest multitasking product to ever feature on the international beauty box scene – Figs & Rouge Aloe and Mint Balm. Perfect for those lips that chap and peel, cuticles that go haywire, skin that itches and burns, feet that embarrass and eyebrows that just can’t stay in shape! And best of all, it’s 100% natural, organic and petroleum free – no restrictions on how many times you can use it!

Price: Rs. 549 for 17mL

Packaging: The Figs & Rouge Aloe and Mint balm comes packed in a small round tub with a lid. The tub is pale green in color, small and cute, and can easily fit into the purse. Because of the tub packaging, one needs to scoop out some product each time to avoid contamination of product in the tub.

Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Butyrospermum, Parkii Fruit Butter, Cera Alba, Mentha Piperita Leaf Oil, Aloe Barbandesis Fruit Juice, Limonene Linalool.

How to use: Carry this in your purse and let your creativity go wild! Apply on lips to hydrate them and also use as base to make your lipstick last longer – your cuticles to keep them looking tip top. Use it to hydrate dry skin on face, hands, arms or legs – will not leave your skin sticky at all. Use it at night to treat cracked or dry feet. It’s also a great eyebrow shaper – apply a tiny bit to keep the brows in shape all day long

My take on Figs & Rouge Aloe and Mint balm: The Figs & Rouge Aloe and Mint balm is an off-white coloured, thickly set balm in a tub, which melts off a bit in the tub. It has a minty fragrance to it, which fades off a few minutes after application. On coming in contact with the warm skin of the fingers, you can feel the product going soft under the skin. So I’m sure one cannot travel with this tub in the bag in the Delhi summers.

The product otherwise is very easy to use. It spreads on the skin easily, and is a true multi-tasker. You can use it on the lips, dry cuticles, heels, etc. on the lips, it stays for about 1.5-2 hours, after which I need to re-apply it. It does lead to temporary minty cool sensation on the lips, which is great for summers.

My favourite way of using this balm is for the nail cuticles at night. Just apply a wee bit of the balm to the area around the nails, and next morning, you wake up with smooth skin and cuticles. It also works well on rough skin around the elbows, etc.

I haven’t tried it on the heels, to be able to comment on that.

Pros of Figs & Rouge Aloe and Mint balm:

·         Smooth product, easy to use

·         Imparts a temporary cooling sensation

·         Heals the skin when used over-night (tried on nails and cuticles)

·         100% organic

·         Multi-tasker product

Cons of Figs & Rouge Aloe and Mint balm:

·         Does not work too well as a lip balm. I have used better products.

The balm is prone to melting, so it’s not a good idea to carry this in the handbag in our kinda climate
·         Tub packaging raises hygiene concerns

·         Availability in India

Verdict: Overall, I feel it’s a good product to have, but not a must-have! Works well for the cuticles and rough skin, but not great for the lips.

Rating: 8.5/10
