Sigma E-65 Small Angle Brush: Review

Hey everyone!
Today I’m reviewing the last brush from the Sigma¬†brushes I have. Let’s have a look at the Sigma E-65 brush in this post.

sigma e 65 brush

About Sigma E-65 Small Angle Brush:

Unique Feature: Angled, thin and firm head
Function: Create precise lining
Recommended Use: Moves fluidly and easily across the upper and lower lash lines. Use with gel, cream or powder liners.

Price: $10 (approx. Rs. 550-600) for an individual brush

Packaging: The brush that I have is a part of the Sigma Mr. Bunny travel kit, and hence the brush bristles are a dual-colored brown and white.

sigma e 65 brush review

  • Shape:¬†Small, flat head, slanted at the top

  • Bristles:¬†Soft, firm, dual-colored

  • Ease of use:¬†High.¬†

  • Functionality:¬†Can be used to apply gel liners, liquid liners, or custom-made liners (say, if you mix a powder/ loose eyeshadow with Inglot Duraline). Also can be used to apply eye-shadows very precisely in the crease, etc. I feel the bristles are a little too soft for use with gel liners ūüôĀ

  • Best used¬†with gel eyeliners¬†

  • Drying time:¬†around 2 hours.

  • Shedding:¬†Nil.

  • Since the ends of the bristles are white, they do take up the color of the foundation/ liquid product easily. Also, the gel liner may dry up on the brush, and the brush should ideally be cleaned after every use.

  • Availability:¬†Only online, on¬†Sigma Beauty website.¬†International shipping charges extra.

  • Vegan?¬†Yes! Cruelty-free!

Verdict: E-65 is a nice brush for use with eyeliners, though I still prefer Sigma E-05 Eyeliner brush (review HERE)

Rating: 8/10

Sigma E-40 Tapered Blending Brush: Review

Hey everyone!

Today I’m reviewing the¬†Sigma E-40 Tapered Blending Brush. This is also an eyeshadow blending brush, similar to the E-25 brush that I reviewed¬†HERE¬†a few days back. Read on to know more about the E-40 brush from Sigma in this post.

sigma e 40 tapered blending brush

About Sigma E-40 Tapered Blending Brush:

Unique Feature: Soft and fluffy rounded tip

Function: Soft, blended crease

Recommended Use: Using just the tip to apply color, sweep back and forth through the crease for a diffused and blended finish.

sigma e 40 tapered blending brush review

Price: $12 (approx. Rs. 660-700) for an individual brush

Packaging: The brush that I have is a part of the Sigma Mr. Bunny travel kit, and hence the brush bristles are a dual-colored brown and white. If you purchase the brush individually, it would have a black handle and black bristles.

View from top!
  • Shape:¬†Fluffy, rounded brush, slightly tapered from the sides.¬†

  • Bristles:¬†Soft, fluffy, firm. Do not shed.¬†

  • Ease of use:¬†High.¬†

  • Functionality:¬†

Smoothen out lines and edges after eyeshadow application on the eyes. Can also be used to apply brow bone highlighter. I prefer this brush over the Sigma E-25 Blending brush (review HERE)

    • You can also use this brush to contour the nose area, it is of the right size for that purpose.¬†
  • Best used to¬†blend¬†eyeshadows, a spare/ separate brush can be used to contour nose too.
  • Drying time:¬†around 2-3 hours.

  • Shedding:¬†Nil.

  • Since the ends of the bristles are off-white as part of the Mr. Bunny kit, they do take up the color of the foundation/ liquid product easily. If you buy this brush individually, it would have black bristles, and hence no such problem.

  • Availability:¬†Only online, on¬†Sigma Beauty website.¬†International shipping charges extra.
Verdict:¬†A must-have brush for all eye make-up buffs. If you are buying it, I’d suggest you buy two of them, one for the eyeshadows, and one for nose contouring!¬†

Real Techiques brush haul, and why I hate living in South Delhi, for once!

real techniques brushes
Hey everyone!
If you have been puzzled by the series of Sigma brush reviews on the Blog lately, well, here’s why!
I bought a few brushes from Real Techniques last week. This was a combined haul with Bharti of Crazy Pop Lock Blog. She shopped for some RT brushes for her birthday, and well, I was so tempted by her post, that when she asked me on WhatsApp if I wanted to place an order with her, I couldn’t say NO!

So here’s what we bought:
  1. Your Base/ Flawless core collection ($17.99)
  2. Your eyes/ enhanced starter set ($17.99)
  3. Your finish/ perfected setting brush ($7.99)
  4. Your finish/ perfected blush brush ($8.99)

The last two items belong to Bharti, though I have already told her that I have full intentions of stealing them ūüėõ lol

The brushes look awesome, and for a first opinion, they are very soft to touch. Will update you all with the reviews soon!
Shopping experience with iHerb.com

iherb.com shopping experience
  • The package came to me not-so-well-packaged. The box just had some brown paper at the bottom, and the brushes were just kept in the box without any bubble wrap. Slightly disappointed there!
  • The parcel reached me in about a week from the date of placing the order, which is quite a feat for an international order.
  • iHerb charges approx $12 for shipping international orders via DHL
  • Since this was my first order, I got a discount of about $10
  • I also got a 5% discount as part of a May-month promotion. Thus with both the discounts, the shipping was almost free!
  • Got a sample of organic lemon tea free!

Why I hate living in South Delhi:
I love love love being a Delhiite, I’m a pucca Delhiite at heart! They say, once you live in Delhi, you can not live anywhere else in India! Have always been living in South Delhi, but of late, I have started to think that this is a big disadvantage!¬†
Why? Coz I think the Customs Department likes to attack us South Delhiites with bonus customs duty on EVERY international order. When I get orders delivered to my office (which is not in south Delhi), I don’t have to pay customs duty. Bharti didn’t have to pay customs duty on her iHerb order. But I paid a customs duty on my order, a total of Rs. 1937!¬†This is when the total worth of the parcel was not written on the outside! DO they open and check? Do they charge by weight? No clue!
So, I’m guessing, where you are getting the orders delivered in Delhi, is what attracts customs duty. I have paid more than Rs. 5000 as customs duty in the last 6 months, and I think I’m done with any other international orders for the rest of this year!¬†
Customs Deptt., it was nice knowing you all! I’m not filling your pockets any more! >.<
Dear Delhi, I still love you! :*
If you live in South Delhi, please have your orders delivered to a friend/ relative’s place or your office, in some other part of Delhi.
For now, I’m just happy to have the Real Techniques brushes in my custody! ūüėÄ
On another note, if you want to buy anything from iHerb.com, and if you want to avail the first-order discount, you can use the code NVH669 for the same. Enter the code at the time of check-out, and the discount will be applied to your order.

sigma e 25 blending brush (1)
Price: $10 (approx. Rs. 550) for an individual brush

sigma e 25 blending brush (2)
sigma e 25 blending brush (3)
  • Shape:¬†Meduim length, rounded top, slightly flattened from ¬†the sides

  • Bristles:¬†Fluffy, soft, off-white in color, medium density

  • Ease of use:¬†High

  • Functionality:¬†Used to blend eyeshadows to get rid of any harsh edges/ lines between eyeshadows, smoothen out between shades. I also use this brush to apply brow-bone highlighter. The bristles are a little soft, and slightly sparsely located. I mean, I would have loved the brush to be a little more dense.¬†

  • Best used to blend-in eyeshadows

  • Drying time:¬†around 2-3 hours.

  • Shedding:¬†Nil.

  • Since the ends of the bristles are white, they do take up the color of the foundation/ liquid product easily.

  • Availability:¬†Only online, on¬†Sigma Beauty website.¬†International shipping charges extra.

  • Vegan?¬†Yes! Cruelty-free!

Verdict: Not a must-have from Sigma. The good news is, this brush usually comes as a complementary brush with your purchases above $30 from Sigma.

Sigma E-05 Eyeliner Brush: Review

Hey everyone!
I hope you are not getting bored with the series of Sigma brush reviews! The reasons why I’m¬†reviewing¬†them back-to-back are: ¬†
1. these reviews were pending since long, almost 6 months, and
2. I recently placed an order for more brushes.
and hence this review frenzy! Today I’m reviewing the¬†Sigma E-05 Eyeliner Brush, perfect for those who love gel liners! Read on to know more!

sigma e 05 eyeliner brush

sigma e 05 eyeliner brushes

Unique Feature: Fine tipped and tapered
Function: Create smooth and even lines
Recommended Use: Use with gel or liquid liners.

Price: $10 (approx. Rs. 550) for an individual brush

Packaging: The brush that I have was a complementary brush from Sigma Beauty, and hence is pink and silver in color. Otherwise,t he brush comes with the classic black handle and silver ferrule.

sigma e 05 eyeliner brush review
sigma e 05 eyeliner brush reviews
  • Shape:¬†Slender, pointed/ tapered brush

  • Bristles:¬†Soft, smooth, but firm. Densely packed. Non-scratchy!¬†

  • Ease of use:¬†High. Those who are starting to use gel eyeliners will love this brush.

  • Functionality: Helps in drawing thin to thick lines with gel/ liquid eyeliners. Retains the shape well. Pointed tip helps in drawing the thinnest of lines.

  • Best used with gel eyeliners.

  • Drying time:¬†around 2 hours.

  • Shedding:¬†Nil.

  • Since I use this brush mostly with gel eyeliner, the bristles firm up with each use as the gel eyeliner dries up on the brush. So you need to work quickly with your gel liners, in order to keep the brush in a working condition too, lol! If the gel dries, the bristles dry up too!

  • Brush needs to be cleaned after every use, for the same reason as mentioned above.
  • Availability:¬†Only online, on¬†Sigma Beauty website.¬†International shipping charges extra.¬†
Verdict:¬†For those who love using gel eyeliners, or are starting to try gel eyeliners, and need a sturdy, good quality brush, should definitely invest in this brush. It will go on for a lot of years, and does it’s job fabulously!

Sigma E-55 Eye Shading Brush: Review

Hieee everyone!
Today I’m reviewing the¬†Sigma E-55 Eye Shading Brush¬†for you all. The brush that I have is a part of Mr. Bunny travel kit.¬†
So is this the perfect brush for eyeshadow application? Let’s find out!

sigma e55 eye shading brush

About Sigma E-55 Eye Shading Brush:
Unique Feature: Soft and dense bristles
Function: Even application of color
Recommended Use: Place color across the entire lid for an even and strong application of product.

sigma e55 eye shading brush price india
Price: $10 (for single brush) + International shipping charges.
Comes out cheaper if you buy a few brushes together, or a travel kit. Check out my shopping experience and other details with their website in THIS post.

Packaging: Sigma brushes come packed in cardboard packaging. Mine is a part of the Mr. Bunny travel kit, so I have a round leather case for it.

sigma e55 eye shading brush review
My take on Sigma E-55 Eye Shading Brush: The E-55 eye shading brush is an eyeshadow application brush, meant for packing eyeshadows/ pigments on the eyelid. The brush has a rounded top, it is almost flat yet has a lot of bristles, and is a little broad. The bristles are soft and smooth, and they pick up eyeshadow well, but I find the shape and size of the brush a little too short and too broad for use on the eyelids. So, I generally use this brush for applying the contouring shade on the sides of the nose. Though this is not to say that the brush is not good for eyeshadow application. What I mean is, the brush is a little too broad, so it’s not multi-purpose. It cannot be used for the inner corners of the eyes. Works well for the centre of the lid and also for the crease. It is more of an application brush than a blending brush. On washing, the bristles do not shed at all, and the brush does not take too long to dry.
I got the brush as a part of the Mr. Bunny kit. I wouldn’t purchase this brush individually.

Pros of Sigma E-55 Eye Shading Brush:
  • Soft, smooth brush
  • Does not scratch the skin
  • Suitable for eyeshadow/ pigment application to the eyelids
  • Washable, re-usable
  • Takes very less time to dry
  • If you buy it with a few other brushes, it comes out to be very affordable too, especially if you compare the price with MAC brushes.

Cons of Sigma E-55 Eye Shading Brush:
  • The brush is a little broad for eye make-up, especially for those with small eyelids. Cannot be used for inner parts of the eyelid
  • Shipping hassle. Not available in India locally

Verdict: I’m not a huge fan of this brush, since it’s a little broad for my comfort. If you have deep-set eyes, you can opt for this, in case you’re building an extensive brush kit. Else, IMO, it is nice, but not a must-have brush.
