…. of farewells, endings and new beginnings!

A BIG hellooooooo everyone!
Well, I’m a little sentimental right now, and I have no clue why I’m writing this post and what all I’m going to write in here, but just hold on, I might make some sense by the time we reach the closing lines!

I had a Farewell for myself at my workplace today. I put my papers down a month back, and it was my last working day today! From being a Doctor to researching about new drugs on fellow human beings to taking lectures and starting this Blog somewhere in between, my life has seen a lot of changes in the last few years. Most of them I did not enjoy much! Some were fantastic!

But this moment onwards, I am a full-time Blogger, atleast for some time!
I’m on a sabbatical for now, giving time to things I enjoy doing, trying to discover new things, places and people in my life, giving shape to a gamut of ideas which keep whirlpooling in my brain, and a lot more!

I’m looking forward to a lot of new and exciting changes in my life henceforth!

Just for fun quote from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani:

Ranbir Kapoor- Main udna chahta hun, daudna chahta hun, girna bhi chahta hun, bas rukna nahin chahta!

This is exactly what I feel right now! Sigh!

Let’s see what life has in store for me from tomorrow! 😀

Inglot Pressed Powder #31: Review, swatches

Hiya everyone!
I have been bitten by the contouring bug lately. Precisely, ever since I did the make-up training at M.A.C.. I even go to meet my friends with my face contoured, lol! Ever since, I have been on the lookout for the perfect contouring products. One of the (most) important products that you need for contouring is a foundation (powder, cream, liquid) which is 2 shades darker than your skin tone, to create an illusion of depth where applied. Since I have oily skin, my preference is a matte powder. I hit upon Inglot Pressed Powder in shade number 31 recently. Read on to know whether it helped or not.

Packaging: The powder comes in a simple black cardboard box. Classy at that. Inside, the product is housed in a round, black, flip-top case. The case has a mirror under the flip-top, and a sponge applicator. The packaging is travel friendly.
My take on Inglot Pressed Powder-31: Shade number 31 is a chocolatey shade, and just for reference, in MAC, it would be somewhere around NC48-50. Since I am NC44-45, the shade suits me fine, though it does seem a tad darker sometimes. I usually balance it out with a lighter powder on top. The texture of this pressed powder is very smooth, and it is probably the most ‘powdery’ compacts I have ever come across. The moment you touch a brush to the product, a lot of product gets transferred plus a lot of it flies around in the pan.
When used for contouring, the powder stays on my oily skin for about 6 hours, though it keeps fading away with time. I am satisfied with the results that this product delivers, though I’d say this is definitely not the best shade for me (and I bought it after trying it out at the store, thanks to the ever-misleading store lighting!). And at this price, I find it a tad expensive, because to completely contour the face, you need a highlighting shade too.
Since I use the powder as a contouring product, I haven’t used the applicator that comes with the pack. I prefer using the Sigma angled contour brush for the same.

Pros of Inglot Pressed Powder-31:
·         The shade is good for contouring for dusky beauties
·         Smooth texture
·         Nice packaging
Cons of Inglot Pressed Powder-31:
·         Very powdery, the product literally flies!
·         Expensive!
Verdict: Well, I am in two minds about this product. Personally, I do like it, but it is certainly not the best contouring powder out there! Get yourself matched before buying it, and do consider the texture.
Rating: 7/10

6 months!

Wooohoooo!!!!! I am singing and dancing (only in my brain) as I write this post. My blog is 6 months old today!

It seems like I started it just a few days back. I started the blog at the spur of the moment and at that time, I had no idea I would love it so much. I even had no idea what my real passion in life was! This means that, sometimes, the decisions that we take at the spur of the moment are the best decisions we take in our lives. Agree?

6 months just flew by! Really!

I must thank you all, who have taken out their precious time to read my posts. Without all you guys, I’d be nothing today. Thanks to all GFC followers, and also to all the Facebook followers! And also to everyone who takes time out to not only read the posts, but also leave comments. I love reading them all.

I shall keep introducing a lot of different things on the blog with time.

Loads of love to you all!

Oops moment… Soha Ali Khan

Here’s presenting an OOPS! moment from the recently concluded Aamby Valley India Bridal fashion week. Soha Ali Khan was walking the ramp for designer Vikram Phadnis.

This is what happened:

She looked fine on the ramp, though.

I loved the lehenga, the jewellery and the neck-high mehendi (just an exaggeration :P) …

Also, I’ve slightly changed the name of the blog.. The new name will be ‘The Indian Beauty‘, from now on (had to change the name for some reasons).

Transition will take some time… Please bear with me.

Stay around!
