While everyone around us is busy traveling to a hill station right now, thanks to the super hot weather in Delhi currently with no respite in the form of rains, me and hubby are running a little too busy to step out of the town right now. Hotels in and around Delhi are such a savior for us currently for a quick weekend getaway. We spent the last weekend at Radisson Noida Sector 55. Read on for the deets!
Last month, I went down to Kairali- The Ayurvedic Healing Village in Palakkad, Kerala for a staycation. Away from the hustle and bustle of our city lives, this ‘healing village’ is a must-visit if you are craving some peaceful time, need to connect with nature and also get treated for any physical conditions/ stress you may be suffering from. This year has been treating me well in the travel department so far. For someone who loves travelling, being able to travel every month is a dream come true. And since I have been travelling even during the hot months here, I have some tried and tested summer travel makeup favorites to share with you girls! Keep reading for the deets.
I know I disappeared from the blog for a whole week, without any warning this time! Sorry for the disappearing act- I was holidaying in the Andamans!!! Yaeeeeeee!
Whoa! Now I’m super charged for everything that life has to offer next! I think however much you love your work (I love mine a lot), everyone deserves to take a full-fledged break atleast once a year! So yea, I’m back now, and all set for more work!
And.. OMG! I’m humbled by the kind of love I received in the inbox from you guys in the last few days- quite a few of you messaged asking me why I had disappeared and if I was okay- you know who you are- please know that I’m really humbled by your gestures and I love you all! Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts always, for being my well-wishers, and for loving me so much!
PS: Please take this post with a pinch of salt. I don’t mean to hurt any sentiments whatsoever!
I know I created a lot of hype on the Blog and Facebook about the wedding I had to attend towards the end of November. It was a wedding in the distant family, and I was all excited for a wedding after a long long time (you know how an unmarried Indian girl in her late 20’s isn’t excited about attending weddings with the parents- all thanks to the random match-fixing Aunty-jee’s that you’ve never even seen in your life). Had to travel to Lucknow for the wedding. Packed my bags like crazy, including a host of hair-styling tools and accessories, jewellery and makeup, BUT… Read on!
I was recently jotting down in my wish-list (yes, I maintain a wish-list of thing I need want to do, stuff I want to buy and places I need to visit) a list of places I want to visit in the years to come. Travel is something I’m really fond of- I love exploring new places, but till date life hasn’t given me a chance to step out of India. Not that I have discovered the whole of India- or even 10% of it, yet. But wish-lists are wish-lists, and I firmly believe that what goes into your wish-list, manifests!
So amongst a lot of other scenic places, Kuala Lumpur is that one Asian destination I want to visit. I really want to! Why? I don’t know. I just want to! 😀 See, wish-lists are all about ‘want’ more than ‘need’. That explains it all, I believe. 😀
So I recently went to Hauz Khas Village after a long time with my BFFs. And Oh-My-God, how much we all loved catching up is beyond words! So basically this was the first time all my best girls were in one place, and my happiness was beyond what can be expressed in words. And when you are happy, time flies!
The idea was to meet, chill (like chilllll- super lazy mode), have some nice food and drinks, and some nice coffee, and just let the whole feeling soak in! And the Delhi weather is at it’s best right now- not hot at all, and just that light winter in the air- ah!
Some pictures from the lovely evening:
We first went to Fat Ninja at HKV. Nice place with awesome ambience, nice music and good food! They also have terrace seating, which is perfect for this weather, but there was some renovation work going on, so we couldn’t sit there. No food pics too 🙁
I’ve just returned from a short 2-day Mumbai trip last night.
Me and a few fellow Bloggers were invited for the Be Beautiful & Vlog On Workshop (at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai) by the Hindustan Unilever folks (they have brands like Lakme, Dove, Tigi, etc.). It was a one-day workshop, which lasted from 11am till 9pm! Yes, it was a pretty long workshop to be conducted in one go, but then it wasn’t boring, and we had a lot of fun. More on that in a later post 🙂
It was especially nice to meet fellow Bloggers from outside Delhi, like Samyukta (ISLM), Hina (Make-up by Hina), Jyo (ETM) and Dolon (Pout Pretty), and ofcourse my Delhi companions, Apurva (Kalapalette) and Deeptima (Beauty unleashed With Deeptima). We were so tired by the end of the day that there was practically no energy left to pose for group pictures, but I’ll try and get them from the girls asap!
Here’s a glimpse into Mumbai travel day-1:
We stayed at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, and here’s a look into my room. I so wish I had made a video! The first day of the trip, we were practically inside Grand Hyatt the whole day 😛
Hey everyone! I recently went on a small trip with my family. It was an over-night plan, so I didn’t get much time to pack my bags, but I still managed to pack the things which are essential for me.
Since it was a road-trip, there was no limit to the weight of the luggage we could carry, hence I carried all products in their original packaging only (if you are taking a flight, there are luggage weight restrictions, so it is advisable that you do not carry full-sized packs, instead, transfer products like face wash, shampoo, conditioner, etc. to smaller travel packs, in order to travel light).
So I carried my essentials in 3 small bags. I carried products which would serve multiple functions, so as to keep the number of products to a minimum.
Bag 1: Bath & Body products
A green coloured bag, this one is water-proof and I use this bag during my trips to keep all things that I need to carry to the bathroom with me 😛
Things that I carry:
Shampoo and conditioner: TRESemme Climate Control shampoo and conditioner- The bottles are almost empty now, so I carried these to lessen the weight 😛
Facewash: Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying gel (review HERE)
Scrub-cum-pack: Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1: This is an excellent product to deeply cleanse the skin on the go, and the wash-scrub-mask action makes it a handy utilitarian for travel. Excellent for oily skin.
Bath: Crabtree and Evelyn Lily shower gel and body lotion: These were a part of a travel kit from Crabtree and Evelyn, and I love the fragrance to death! Subtle and classy, these small packs come in very handy for travel.
Deodorant: Since the weather in North India is on the humid side these days, I carried an anti-perspirant this time. This one’s the Garnier Mineral Deodorant- Extra Care (review HERE)
Bag 2: Facial care products
This is a white bag, it looks luxe, and pretty sitting on the dresser. It mostly has products that go on the face.
Under eye gel: Can be used both during the day, and at night. Carried Aroma Magic Under-eye gel (review HERE)
Day cream/ facial sunscreen/ tinted moisturiser: The Lotus Herbals Nutraglow TM (review HERE) fits the bill perfectly. Works well for my oily skin.
Night cream: Some product is still left in the TBS Tea-tree night cream pack, so I carried the same with me. Review HERE.
Sunscreen for the arms and feet: Banana Boat waterproof sunscreen SPF-50. Non-sticky, and perfect for water-sports!
Cotton rounds: For removing make-up, applying toner, etc.
Bag 3: Make-up products
This bag you’ve already seen in THIS post. I carried mostly the same make-up products. Here’s what:
Base make-up: Mostly MAC products- MAC Matte (primer), MAC Studio Finish concealer, MAC Studio Fix powder plus foundation, MAC Sprinsheen blush.
Eye make-up: 2 kohl pencils, liquid eyeliner and mascara.
Lip balms, mini perfume and solid perfume (L’Occitane), mouth freshener (Spraymintt- Chocolate).
Lip products: One pinkish lipstick (MAC Craving), red gloss (Lotus Herbals Purestay- Rose Bud), one lipstick which goes well with almost any outfit- Maybelline Superstay 14 hour lipstick- Endless Raisin, red lip butter; Revlon lip butter- Red Velvet.
Blotting sheets (Basicare)
mouth freshener, lip balms and perfumes
Also in the hand-bag
-Hand Sanitizer- Apollo
-Toilet seat sanitizer- Elavo
-Hand Cream- Soap and Glory Hand Food
-Facial freshening spray- Vichy Eau Thermale (used this a LOT, review coming up soon!)
Miscellaneous: These keep travelling from one bag to another, as per need.
Vicks throat lozenges 😛
Hair brush (not in pics)
Pheww… Those were quite a lot of products. What all do you carry when you travel? Suggestions for improvement, please! 🙂 Share in the comments below 🙂
